81 GIs Killed in Crash
A chartered airliner carrying a group of young Army recruits to Fort Benning crashed on a second attempt to land in a thunderstorm Friday night in Oklahoma, killing 81 of the 98 persons aboard. The crash was the third worst military air disaster to occur in the United States.

Union carpenters here are due to pick up their hammers and saws Monday morning after being idle three weeks over a contract dispute. Representatives of International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, Union Local 1723, met with contractors this morning to sign a contract agreement, according to a spokesman.
