Gray to Run
Albany newspaper publisher Jimmy Gray officially entered the Democratic gubernatorial race today and told newsmen that he is not a racist, and, in fact, is “extremely sympathetic” to the needs of Negroes.
Courthouse
A recommendation for a $8.5 million county bond issue will be set before Muscogee County Commission Tuesday. That’s the figure the Muscogee County bond study committee came up with Thursday at a final session. It includes $4 million as the county’s two-thirds share of a city-county courthouse.

Linda Carol Downing, 18-year-old senior at Central High School, today received the Ledger-Enquirer’s annual Tucker-Wilder Award as the school’s outstanding journalism student.
