Federal officials moved Wednesday into U.S. District Court here to take former Lt. Gov. Garland Byrd’s suit against school desegregation guidelines out of Muscogee County Superior Court to Federal Court.

The triumphant Surveyor spacecraft, carrying an American flag to the moon, sent back to earth today 144 “excellent” pictures showing what appeared to be boulders, rocks and pebbles covered with possibly an inch of dust on the lunar surface.

Project Viet Nam

Since last August, 111 American doctors have volunteered to leave their practices in the United States and serve 60 days in Viet Nam for $10 per day living allowances. The doctors came to this war-broken country under Project Viet Nam and have put their skills to work in places ranging from tiny, straw-roofed clinics in the humid delta to Da Nang’s hectic city hospital.
