State Sen. Jimmy Carter tried to catch up on his sleep this morning as the camps of rival candidates buzzed over his decision to run for governor. Carter’s wife, Rosalynn, was answering their telephone in an Atlanta motel. “He has to go out to get a little sleep,” she said.
