Driving Tests

Motorists in Columbus, as well as all over Georgia, will no longer get to take their drivers license tests on Saturdays. The license division of the State Patrol will close on Saturdays, starting this week.

Medic Wounded

After 10 months on the front line aiding wounded of the lst Cavalry Division, Army medic Tommy Cole’s luck ran out last week and it was his turn to be succored by a fellow corpsman. Cole, 21, of Pittsburg, Kan., had taken part in every major battle of the lst Cavalry since arriving in Viet Nam. He was seriously wounded near the hamlet of Dong Tre.

Snakes Rumor Quashed

Rumors of rattlesnakes running rampant at Flat Rock Park again have proven groundless. Apparently, the word spread falsely Saturday that a rattlesnake had bitten someone. This was discounted by both County Police and Park Manager Jeff Moon.
