‘Safety Break’ in PC
The Phenix City Jaycees are sponsoring a “Safety Break” for holiday motorists. Buddy Jackson, president of the Phenix City Jaycees, said that refreshment stands will be set up on the Opelika Road to give Fourth of July drivers a chance to have a cool soft drink and “relax their eyes for a while.”
Religion
Evangelist Michael H. Lord has become the new pastor at Edgewood Temple Assembly of God. Founder and director of the “God Save America Crusade,” a religious and patriotic organization, the Rev. Lord and his wife have traveled and spoken in 28 states, Canada and the Republic of Mexico.
Scouts
Eleven Columbus area Scouts and their three leaders from the Central Georgia Council, Boy Scouts of America, have left the camping headquarters of Philmont Scout Ranch and Explorer Base in the Santa Fe Trail country of New Mexico.
