Guide for GIs

Bradley Center

City Commission Monday cleared the last hurdle for relocation and expansion of The Bradley Center. The commissioners voted to rezone about seven of 11 acres formerly occupied by the Anne Elizabeth Shepherd Home from R-2 to R-3. The property is near St. Elmo School.

Desegregation

Former Lt. Gov. Garland Byrd’s school desegregation guidelines suit goes to U.S. District Court here Friday. Judge J. Robert Elliott announced Monday that he had set a hearing for 9:30 a.m. on Byrd’s suit against application of the guidelines in his home county of Taylor.
