Speck Charged

Richard Speck, who is accused of slaughtering eight student nurses, was formally charged with murder Wednesday and conferred with his lawyer and a minister.

Hospital Rates

Room rates at The Medical Center will go up $5 a day for each bed, effective Aug. 1. The increase is to finance a pay raise for some 350 non-professional hospital employees.

Morgan Brothers

Prison terms totaling 45 years each have been recommended for two Columbus brothers, Leon and Floyd Morgan, found guilty of robbing and beating their 102-year-old great grandmother and her twin spinster daughters.
