Governor’s Race

Gubernatorial candidate Jimmy Carter charged Monday night that former Gov. Ellis Arnall is “trying to buy his way back into the governor’s office with wild promises. Just four of his hundreds of promises would cost the taxpayers of Georgia an extra half-billion dollars, during the next four years.”

Royal Crown

A report issued by the Royal Crown Cola Co. Monday showed an 18 percent gain in net earnings for the first six months of the year and a new record for June in sales, company president William E. Uzzell said.
