Asteroid Defense
A Sydney University physicist said today the United States, Britain and Russia are studying the possibility of using a nuclear rocket to prevent an asteroid from smashing into earth.
Courthouse
Estimates on the cost of furnishings for the county’s portion of the proposed new courthouse should be forthcoming at the Aug. 8 courthouse study committee meeting. The first estimate set the cost at $6,273,190.
Brinkley
Congressional candidate Jack Brinkley Tuesday told a meeting of the Hawkinsville Lions Club that the common law system is a government of laws and not of men. The Columbus attorney has entered the congressional race for the 3rd District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives being vacated by GOP gubernatorial candidate Howard H. (Bo) Callaway of Pine Mountain.
