Teachers’ Pay

The paychecks of Georgia’s 44,000 public school teachers will be fattened by an additional $200 per year this fall. Actually, they will get a total of $500 a year more than last year. A $300 a year raise already had been announced previously.

Education

Columbus College is growing all right, but not like Topsy. In a recent speech, Dr. Thomas Y. Whitley, president, said that buildings now under construction or authorized will more than double the present value of land and buildings and bring the capital investment in the college to more than $5 million.

Lt. Col. Theodore H. Nicholas has been appointed chief of professional services at Martin Army Hospital.
