A Columbus-Muscogee County courthouse study committee today agreed to recommend to Commissions a total figure of $8.5 million for the cost of the proposed new courthouse. Approximately two -thirds of this will be paid by Muscogee County.

Sports

The Atlanta Braves, fresh from a successful three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies, are to take on the league-leading Los Angeles Dodgers at Atlanta Stadium tonight. Probable starting pitchers are Don Sutton (9-9) for Los Angeles and Ken Johnson (9-7) for Atlanta.

Mill Union

Employees of the Lindale production facilities of the Pepperell Manufacturing Co. division of West Point-Pepperell Inc. have voted 1,139 to 917 in favor of representation by the Textile Workers Union of America, the Associated Press reports.
