Courthouse Bond

Muscogee County voters will likely go to the polls Dec. 7 to vote on a $10.25 million bond referendum. The $8.6 million figure climbed when Commission passed a revised estimate of $5.65 million to be the county’s share of the proposed new courthouse cost.

Central Reunion

The reunion of the 1946 class of Central High School will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, with a tour of the new Central High School on South Railroad Street.

Lights Out; Births Up

Last November the lights went out as the Northeast suffered a massive power failure. Today, just nine months after the blackout, metropolitan hospitals were reporting a jump in the birth rate.
