Anti-War Probe

Hearings into anti-Viet Nam war activities erupted today with loud challenges to the House Committee on Un-American Activities. At least eight persons were carried and dragged from the hearing room.

Phone Rates

Southern Bell Telephone Co. has proposed a hike in its telephone rates in the Columbus calling area. The proposed increases would amount to 25 to 30 cents a month.

Zoning Flap

A bill giving the Russell County Commission authority to set up a countywide planning and zoning board was slated to go on voting calendars of the Alabama House of Representatives today.
