Anti-War Protests

Communists are behind extreme anti-Viet Nam war movements and legislation is needed to curb them, members of the House Committee on Un-American Activities agreed Saturday after four stormy days of hearings.

School Control

The Americus Board of Education has charged that “a bureau of the federal government is attempting to gain control of the public schools in the South.” It said that it is “gratified that the Georgia School Boards Association has assumed the leadership in opposing this illegal federal intrusion.”

Political Rallies

State Junior Chamber of Commerce units continue their determined drive this week to whip up interest in the governor’s race. The big shows of the week will be at Eastman, in south Georgia, and Monroe, in middle Georgia. Both rallies are being sponsored by the Jaycees.
