JFK Probe
Dist. Atty. Jim Garrison said Sunday night that President Kennedy was assassinated by five anti-Castro Cubans angered over Kennedy’s handling of the Bay of Pigs invasion. Garrison said the details were being withheld from his office by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
Court Order
The Supreme Court refused today to block temporarily a March 22 federal court order requiring Alabama officials to eliminate racial segregation in public schools. Gov. Lurleen B. Wallace and other state officials had argued that the order required the state officials to exceed their authority.
Head Start
Head Start programs for Columbus, Phenix City and Chattahoochee County are scheduled to start within a month-but none has been officially approved yet. However, all three programs are expected to be funded, according to officials in Columbus and Phenix City.
