Official intervention time?
The Carter Center has observed 102 elections in 39 countries. This is done only upon the invitation or consent of all major parties to an election. During elections the observers monitor voting and counting and remain after the ballots have been counted to monitor vote tabulation.
I know each state does this on their own, which may open up more avenues for fraud. It would be great if our parties would request The Carter Center to observe our November elections, and I say this in view of the insanity that is already taking place with still three months to go.

Still trying
Mayor Tomlinson has taken a figuratively dead political horse and has resurrected its ugly head by attempting to lift the property tax freeze in a Referendum in the General Election on November 8. The voters of Muscogee County overwhelmingly voted for the tax freeze twice and now Tomlinson has taken a political issue and turned it into a personal plight. She has continuously attacked those under the freeze as not paying their fair share in taxes for city services. According to public records she lives in a home of over 5,000 square feet with a purchase price of $605,000 in 2007, paying $9,616.15 in property taxes.
The mayor, city council, chamber of commerce, and many of the Realtors would like for the property tax freeze to be lifted altogether for all residents in Muscogee County. The mayor’s intention is to deceive the voters into thinking this is just a thaw; in reality it will not only affect the new home buyers, but also those under the freeze because of its inequality which will be contested in the courts to our chagrin. If the voters of Columbus are foolish enough to give Tomlinson this victory it will be a matter of only time before everyone’s property tax freeze is lifted. Then I predict your property taxes doubling and incrementally inflating 2% to 3% annually!
Muscogee County has one of the highest millage rates of any county in Georgia and still their greed is not enough for them. They have wasted our tax money building unnecessary White Elephants at our expense. They subsidize businesses by giving away tax abatements and creating a pseudo non-profit Medical Center Authority at the expense of draining our coffers by millions of dollars annually!

A pox on them all
A recent article in Politico caught my attention: "Throw the Bums Out." Millennials, representing ages groups 18-29, do not trust the president or the Congress (not to mention the grossly overpaid slimeballs who run Wall Street) and are ready to recall and replace all 535 members of Congress today.
In the past there has been discontent with what passes for Guvmint (as Molly Ivins used to call it), but it was usually directed at one party or the other.
The Millennials are especially mad at the DNC for the emails mocking Bernie Sanders, which they considered a fix by the Democrats to ensure that Hilary Clinton is the presidential nominee and no other. Kudos to Senator Sanders for accepting politics as it exists in the USA today and asking all voters to rally ’round the flag.
They are equally disgusted with the Republican Party of NO for doing nothing at all for the last eight years but vote against anything that had the word "Obama" included in it. This includes attempting to repeal the Obamacare Act 60 times, while kicking the can down the road on all other major issues because they were too busy going on recess.
So, maybe it is time for a Third Party, since the two established parties cannot or will not do what their oath of office and the promises they made to their constituents said they would do.

Health and mercy
Today's ten highest grossing box office releases are about animals, including: "Finding Dory," "The Jungle Book," "Zootopia," "The Secret Life of Pets," and "Kung Fu Panda." Nearly half of our households include a dog and nearly 40 percent have a cat. Two-thirds of us view them as family members and cherish them accordingly. We love our animals to death.
Literally ...
For every cat, dog, or other animal that we love and cherish, we put 500 through months of caging, crowding, deprivation, mutilation, and starvation, before we take their very lives, cut their dead bodies into little pieces, and shove those into our mouths.
The good news is that we have a choice every time we visit a restaurant or grocery store. We can choose live foods - yellow and green vegetables, legumes, fruits, nuts, grains, as well as a rich variety of grain and nut-based meats and dairy products. Or, we can choose dead animals, their body parts, and other products of their abuse.
What will it be?
