Sheriff speaks for most of us

Sheriff Mike Jolley has expressed, through his sign, the sentiments of a majority of Americans, and a vast majority of his constituents. Did the liberal intelligentsia think that they could forever overreach in their quest to make any anti-American agenda acceptable, and never expect any backlash?

To those who would disassemble this great country a brick at a time, you have met our collective spokesperson. He is a fearless, unassuming, loyal public servant who truly represents his county, and his country. God bless Mike Jolley, and God bless America.

Unfit to lead

Barack Hussein Obama has the blood of thousands of innocent men, women and children, murdered and butchered by the Islamic terrorists, on his hands that nothing will wash away. He is responsible for the creation of that monster from a small group to a force of thousands, the establishment of an Islamic Caliphate and the acquisition of large areas of territory by his unwillingness to forcefully address the situation.

The success of this ruthless group has encouraged the radicalization of Americans and others that will continue unabated as long as the islamic caliphate and other terrorist groups exist. Containment will not stop nor have any effect on the size or number of terrorists attacks in this country or other countries around the world. The only solution is the complete destruction of the sponsor; the Islamic Caliphate and other terrorist groups.

Obama is jeopardizing the lives of Americans by not utilizing the full military capability of this nation, in conjunction with others nations, to completely destroy this evil menace which threatens the entire world. His lack of will to fully engage the enemy ignores his oath as President to "serve and protect to the best of his ability, the citizens against all enemies, both foreign and domestic". He is wholly incompetent and unwilling to fully protect the citizen of this once great nation. If he were a man of honor, he would resign; otherwise he should be removed from office.

Deadly inaction

President Obama's speech, aimed at boosting confidence in his national security strategy after last week's deadly attack in San Bernardino, failed to reassure me of my safety or the safety of my family. Despite attacks in the U.S., France, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, Mali and on a Russian jetliner, Mr. Obama does not seemingly understand the threat of the ISIL acolytes. He runs from reality with his signature illusion that the world will stay peaceful without a robust deterrent.

On the other hand, I was gratified when I read Mr. Hilary Benn's speech in the House of Commons. I think it is worthwhile to quote: "Given that we know what they {ISIL} are doing, can we really stand aside and refuse to act fully in our self-defense against those who are planning these attacks? Can we really leave to others the responsibility for defending our national security when it is our responsibility? We are here faced with fascists" They hold us in contempt. They hold our values in contempt. They hold our belief in tolerance and decency in contempt. They hold our democracy in contempt And what we know about fascists is that they need to be defeated."

Immediately after Parliamentary approval, the Royal Air Force launched bombing raids against ISIL.

President Obama and all Democratic presidential candidates refuse to say that the U.S. is at war with"radical Islam." This is quite ironic as these words are commonly used in Arabic across the Middle-East and thus puts to rest their argument that using such language incites terrorism. With the director of the FBI telling us that there are terrorist investigations in all 50 states, with open southern and northern borders, no clear strategy to defeat ISIL and only a" paper coalition," how safe do you think you are?

The real Christmas

Christmas without Santa? I went to a Christmas party last year and after a few minutes of small talk I looked around at the beautiful home with tastefully done decorations and smiled because I realized that there was not a Santa Claus in the house. A beautiful Christmas tree, holly and other decorations, and a number of manger scenes accumulated over the years. Not one Santa. It can be done and I wish I had done it when my daughter was growing up. First, no Santas in the house. If asked about Santa, simply reply that Santa is a fictional or made up story that some people have as part of their Christmas. If asked why we don't "do Santa" the simple reply is that our family prefers to focus on the true story of Christmas and have fun in other ways. Have lots of fun and give the kids the joy of giving gifts, especially to those who can't give anything back. Nothing wrong with a wish list and waking up Christmas morning to unwrap presents. Just read Luke Chapter 2 before the meal and remind your kids of the children helped by your church, the Valley Rescue Mission, and the ones who received the gift boxes sent to Franklin Graham's Operation Christmas Child. There is so much more to Christmas than that fat guy in the red suit.
