American freedom at an end

Curt Schillimg speaks out and America is deceased. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights no longer exist. Freedom of speech is annulled.

Welcome to Socialism, America. As a democratic republic, the United States of America has expired. Obama and his ilk have won. Liberalistic socialism, a minority group, has defeated the passive moral majority and sent the formerly powerful United States of America straight to hell.

Thank God that He, and He alone, will protect Israel because the former USA is gone, and will never be resurrected. Prepare to die, because death is imminent. God vomits the USA from His mouth. A grand experiment failed. Roll over in your grave, Abraham Lincoln.

Health emergency

Zika is a virus that spreads by a mosquito (Aedes aegypti) bite and by sexual activity. In pregnant women, the infection causes serious defects in babies including death, premature birth, blindness, microcephaly, and epileptic seizures. In adults, it causes fever, rash, joint pain, conjunctivitis (pink eye), blindness, and serious neurological diseases. A rare nervous system disorder, Guillain-Barre syndrome that can cause temporary paralysis, has been linked to Zika infection. When a person gets infected, the virus lingers in the blood for a week, and can be spread by intercourse.

Microcephaly is a birth defect in which infants are born with small heads and incomplete brain development. It can be caused by infections such as Zika and rubella, and by substance abuse during pregnancy. Some children with microcephaly die, and those who survive face intellectual disability and delay in development.

There are 346 confirmed cases of Zika in the U.S. among travelers. The mosquito that carries the virus is found in 30 states.

There is no vaccine or drug treatment. Patients are advised to rest and drink plenty of fluids. Pregnant women should avoid mosquitoes, sexual intercourse, and substance abuse. American travelers should avoid visiting countries with the virus.

Records search

I am seeking descendants of Edward W. Martin. He died in 1941 and is buried in Girard Cemetary in Phenix City. His children were: H.J. Martin, Harry Martin, Claude L. Martin and Charles Martin. There were some girls, but I do have any names. I am trying to find specific information regarding Claude Lee Martin because he died in Normandy in 1944.

If anyone can help me please contact me at 719-276-7273 or

.com. I want to get records corrected in Normandy when I visit next month. As far as I know, this family is no relation to me. I just want to tell the story of this hero of Normandy.

Time has come

As a young professional, I am happy that Thaw the Freeze is one step closer to a November referendum. I have been a proud resident of Columbus for 21 years. But over time, I have become more concerned with our restrictive tax system. We have seen, with the pressure on our city's budget, an adverse impact on Columbus' growth and other capital improvement projects. I want Columbus to have a bright future for future generations. We must adapt to the times or get left behind.

Bravo

My wife and I recently attended the season finale of the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and words cannot express how impressive and talented this group and their conductor, Maestro George Del Gobbo, truly are! Their hard work, planning, dedication and execution came together beautifully, resulting in nothing short of a world-class performance.

In response to the words of Mary Adams Otwell, "Columbus, Georgia, you are something else!" I couldn't agree more.

Critical choice

The voters and delegates had better get this one right or our country will continue on its downward slide.

In three years from now we will be able to tell if our new president has slowed the debt, started building the wall along our border with Mexico, is bringing back jobs, changed or eliminated the IRS, strengthened our military and replaced Obamacare with a system that is bringing down costs and increasing efficiency. He, or she, also has to show a drastic improvement in the VA health care system.

If we do not see these changes taking place it simply means that we selected the wrong person to be our president from those eligible to run. We better think twice before we cast our ballots. How many times have we heard politicians make the above promises and not delivered?
