Sound Off for August 21, 2017

Pick your sins

It’s unfortunate that for too many evangelical Christians lying, stealing, and adultery can be overlooked if you just don’t drink, dance, or date your same sex.

(Crickets ...)

Our Republican "leaders" in Georgia are being strangely quiet during this Trump debacle. Hello, Sunday school teacher Johnny, are you there? What about you, David? Drew, are you pulling teeth? A spineless bunch you are.

Needs attention

It would be nice to "lose yourself in nature" at Flat Rock Park if the city would clean it up — cut grass, remove dead trees, clean vegetation from lake, fix run-down picnic tables, etc.

One-sided

Anderson Cooper has no credibility in today's world of video. I watched the "Battle of Charlottesville" and saw that while the neo-Nazis were the instigators, the opposition clearly also violently attacked people.

Self-reproach

After watching retired 4-star Marine General Kelly, currently White House chief of staff, staring down while Trump humiliated himself and our country, the only conclusion: General Kelly is wondering what happened to his manhood.

Key distinction

Some attendees in Charlottesville were indeed Virginians simply opposed to removing Lee's statue. Some are good people, certainly not Nazis.
