Sound Off for August 29, 2017

Revenue source

If the police want to make a little money, watch all the litterers using Milgen Road between Reese and Miller as their personal trash dump. Disgusting.

Orwellian

The Google employee being fired for sharing a memo should concern us all. They say he who controls information controls the world. And nobody controls information like Google does.

Self-scrutiny?

Trump's growing tribalism is dangerous. In order to accommodate him, his supporters may not be noticing that their moral moorings are beginning to erode, and this tends to make good people do bad things.

A non-story

Watched coverage of Alabama voting precincts showing "ID required" signs, and thought of all the black voters turned away because of difficulty obtaining IDs. MSNBC and CNN wanted to interview them, but there weren't any.

Go figure

Both of Texas' U.S. senators (Republicans) previously were against using federal funds for disaster relief. Now, both have miraculously reversed their stance.

Now it’s news

Obama pardoned 212 and commuted convictions of 1,715 and Washington just smiled at him. Trump pardoned one public servant who gave 23 years of service and the media criticizes him. Another example of double standards.
