Sound Off for September 17, 2017

Mark the date

I cannot believe the national news began this evening on a subject other than Trump.

Take the money and run

Greed and graft: Florida politicians who approved lax zoning laws knew full well that those trailer parks lining beaches and coastal waterways would be devastated during their lifetimes.

Self-inflicted

It bothers me and makes me sad to see Americans suffer, but much of their suffering is due to their own poor choices.

Urban blight

There is a garbage dump right on Veterans Parkway that smells terrible. This garbage dump does not need to be slap-dab in the middle of Columbus.

They never saw it anyway

Don't worry about visitors from Florida reading about our jail packed with murder defendants. They are used to reading a real newspaper and I'm sure were warned not to waste their money on this rag.

Effectively muted

The greatest curse that Trump could receive is that he would go bald. I’m wishing for it. I also hope he can never say the words “I” or “me” again. That would be poetic justice.

Misplaced loyalties

It seems politicians have forgotten that when they take their oath of office, they swear allegiance to our country and citizens, not their party.

Wasted words

President Obama left a very beneficial, gracious letter to President Trump when he assumed office. Too bad Trump hasn't followed any of it.
