Unit Honors Black

The 1st Air Cavalry Division packed off Charles L. Black Jr., Vietnam correspondent for the Ledger-Enquirer, for Columbus with a nostalgic farewell celebration during which he was awarded the 1st Cavalry Division Combat certificate, and honorary membership in the 1st Cavalry.

Israel

Israeli Defense Minister Gen. Moshe Dayan today said his nation will keep the Arab territory it seized in the June 5-10 Middle East war. In a message to his troops, Dayan said Israel would discuss the present cease-fire lines only on the basis of translating them into permanent borders.

Burnt Village

Excavation to uncover the Indian Burnt Village of Ocfuskeenena near here has had “satisfactory progress” this summer, according to the archaeologist in charge. Harold Huscher, who is on loan to the University of Georgia from the Smithsonian Institution, showed newsmen the site of the excavation of the village, which he and several trained helpers and about 30 Neighborhood Youth Corpsmen have been working on.
