Sound Off for October 8, 2017
Uniformity, not unification
Commissioner Goodell says the NFL has been a uniting force. Really? Taking knees or staying inside during the anthem is uniting? And this is the same guy who requires players’ socks to stay pulled up in the game.
One might be myth; one isn’t
I don't know if Nero actually fiddled while Rome burned, but I know one who tweets, lies, and plays golf while another empire is being destroyed from within.
The right to bear nuclear arms
Gun advocates say "guns don't kill, people kill." So they must want North Korea to have the bomb, because bombs don't kill.
Focus on what matters
No power, little water, little food in Puerto Rico. Darkness. Yet President Trump says he and his administration were doing an "amazing job”? Stop tweeting about football, and instead help those who are suffering.
A sobering body count
Since 1970, more Americans have died from guns than the total of all Americans who died in all the wars in American history, back to the American Revolution.
But he never said it, right?
When the Secretary of State refers to the President as a "moron" I would say things are becoming very serious. Do not think I can recall such a situation in my 70 years.
Where are the grownups?
The board reminds me of little boys playing in a sandbox. They're fussing over the toys. How long will we the parents condone this behavior?
Taxpayer-funded cash machine
I think Dotard Donnie sees our country as a single-user ATM.
