From reading recent Sound Offs, it is apparent the Mayor is energizing her race-baiting base. She needs to realize the Senate seat she cherishes is a statewide race. Enough of the racist accusations.

Self-scrutiny

We should take the government shutdown as an opportunity to assess which of the thousands of ridiculous services and programs we can eliminate permanently, reactivating only things essential to average taxpayers.

Comrades in arms

It is now being reported that Russian money was funneled through the National Rifle Association to the Trump campaign. It is illegal to use foreign money for this purpose.

Wrong culprit

Au contraire, Mssr. Nix, the failure of recruits is not a blemish on the South’s proud “military” tradition. It is a failure of individuals, parents, and their schools’ PE programs. Place blame where it lays.
