Sound Off for Monday, January 18, 2016

Pick of the day

Powerball is at its all-time high. How many are in line to play who voted “no” on the lottery?

Border security

After Donald Trump is finished building the wall, maybe then we can start on closing those tunnels.

Not an encouraging sign

Today’s university students are tomorrow’s leaders. If that is so, considering how they have turned the best radio station (WCUG-FM) the city has ever had into unadulterated crap, then God help us all.

Wading in blood already

The reason why terrorists seldom operate in America is because we’re numb to their shock value. We’re already used to seeing dozens of Americans being shot to death each day.

Different demographic, different outcome

Imaginary headline: “Armed Black Militants Occupy Federal Facility, threaten to shoot police, feds.” Imaginary response: AC-130 gunship, armored units kill everything in federal facility.

Deliberate distortion

Democrats obviously know that Republicans are not “anti-immigration,” but are opposed to illegal immigration and legal entry of extremely questionable persons such as criminals and terrorists. Republicans have made this very clear.

Start with your own business

Donald Trump has said that he will bring jobs back to the USA. However, his own line of clothing is manufactured in China and Mexico. If you vote for this guy, you are his zombie.

But they’re probably making them

What you won’t see kids in Third World nations wearing: Alabama national championship T-shirts.

Givers and receivers

The deficit problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living and pay taxes are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living and don’t pay taxes.
