Pick of the day

Voting for a woman just because she would be the first female President is like voting for a man to become the first male Miss America.

Outlasting the rancor

If you are fortunate enough to outlive your enemies, you will soon be known as beloved.

Unfortunate pattern

Republicans are against raising the minimum wage of $7.25 an hour in Georgia. They also outsource our jobs for slave labor around the Earth. In so doing, they create poverty, criminals, and prisons.

Separation of powers

President Obama has the authority of selecting the next Supreme Court Justice, not Mitch McConnell. Appoint one who protects Americans’ rights, not corporations and Wall Street.

One of history’s ironies

Two generals. One commanded the Army of the Confederacy. One commanded the Union Army and went on to become president. Would you like to guess which one opposed  slavery and which one actually owned slaves?

Appropriate recognition

Congratulations to Carolyn and Isaiah Hugley on receiving the Legacy of Leadership Award. Very deserving. Thank you both for your contributions and service.

That’ll do it

Mayor, you want to fix the property tax issue? Simply propose to get rid of it!

Unlikely in either case

For a GOP voter to take advice from far left pundits like Sanchez and Grimes is as likely as a Democrat having Rush Limbaugh choose the Democratic nominee.

Patriotic posturing

Thomas Jefferson said the downfall of our nation would be led by someone draped in the flag carrying the Constitution in one hand and Bible in the other. Wake up, conservative Republicans.
