Sound Off for May 1, 2016
Political battle hem
Since some Republicans think that "showing a little leg" is now a presidential requirement, does Trump own a dress?
Lethal vows
So ISIS has opened up a marriage counseling service. I imagine it includes a course on "Death will us part."
Historic twists
New Orleans officials who want to dishonor General Lee must favor slavery, as Lee opposed slavery, and it remained legal in New Orleans even after the war, not because of Lee but because of Lincoln.
Ofer
Using sports vernacular, Curt Schilling was 0 for 3. An excellent pitcher, he was hired as a sports analyst, not as a soap box preacher espousing bigoted comments.
There are better ways
Welfare, minimum wage, and unemployment are not my idea of equal pay.
First things first …
If Hillary is elected and then indicted for sloppy email use that endangered the country’s security, will she issue an executive order pardoning herself?
Self-disqualifying defense
Two, or now maybe three, candidates for sheriff are all saying that they weren't informed or didn't understand the election law. Ignorance of the law is no excuse, especially for the chief law enforcement officer.
Degrees of deception
Many months ago, I predicted in Sound Off that if Trump made it far enough, they would charge him with a financial crime. Here it comes ... Trump University. He belongs in jail for fraud.
Sagging support
Freshman enrollment at Mizzou is down 25% and athletic department donations are down 72%. What happens when you cave in to thugs instead of taking care of the real students.
