Sound Off for May 28, 2016
Bipartisan pitch
Dearest citizens: I promise to say whatever you want to hear, take money from giant corporations, run TV ads, and fool you into believing your vote means anything at all. I get a pension, right?
Just deserts
I loved the picture of the two convicted, and headed to state prison or hopefully worse, Mr. Doleman and Mr. Lee. Neither looked very confident or too cocky anymore.
Unconscionable
NY Court of Appeals justices should be indicted for squashing the $1.4 billion verdict against Bank of America. BOA paid huge bonuses for signing up unqualified homeowners, then bundled the "toxic" paper to foreign countries.
Get together
The already high costs of the lawsuit and interest will escalate. Citizens are big losers no matter what. The city officials and sheriff apparently will not even talk. Is there some reason not to?
Spoiled brat
Most of us have been to school with rich kids and know how they act when they don't get their way. Donald Trump is a perfect example.
Priority fail
Columbus “leaders” can always find money for “amenities,” but they shake their heads when it comes to paying first responders what they are worth.
What do they do?
I just heard that Metra is going to be closed on Monday. What city has a transit system that shuts down on a holiday? People still have to go to work.
