Sound Off for June 12, 2016
Bipartisan consensus
Not one living President of the United States endorses or associates with Donald Trump. They may just know something about this job and what it takes.
Missed the memo
If Scott Hobbs reference in last Sunday's paper about 20% of the population being LGBT is right, then I guess about 39,500 did not get the notice for the LGBT festival.
He was too modest
I disagree with Chris Johnson claiming he has never been a barn cleaner. I've read some of his political commentary and it appears he can shovel it out as good as anyone.
Mystery solved
People who are injured by thugs at political rallies while police stand and watch should sue those cities. It seemed odd no Hillary supporters have been assaulted until I saw the kind of people involved.
He will be missed
Muhammad Ali courageously stood up for his beliefs. He was a brave humanitarian who did not hide behind the affluent. He genuinely cared for the poor and the outcast.
Safe blue line
Former German Chancellor Kohl announced to the world his solution for traffic stop killings. One officer does the stop, the other remains behind with his hand on his weapon ready to engage. It worked.
Constitutional safeguard
I never thought that I would say this, but thank God for the Electoral College. Trump will lose by a landslide. Time for another GOP autopsy. Take your time. Say, eight years.
Regrettable but familiar pattern
Columbus Square Mall was a good place to shop, until crime ran off the shoppers. The same thing now seems to be happening at Peachtree Mall. And people wonder why everything keeps moving northward.
