Sound Off for July 3, 2016

Policy shift

Donald Trump woke up to the fact that a majority of his wives were not native born and changed his position on immigration.

Relatively minor threat

Efforts to control the sale of military style rifles are misdirected. These weapons account for only 3% of gun related fatalities. The remaining 97% would be a much more logical target.

Self-inflicted horrors

As horrible as these terrorist attacks are, they're just a trade-off for our generous tolerance of Islamists moving here. Better dead than being accused of intolerance, right?

No end in sight

Court rules Darr and his lawyers wrong about the Charter and they still ask for $326,000 more from taxpayer. Unbelievable, and absurd.

Not a good sign

Kingmaker Frank Myers is promoting JoAnn Thomas-Brown for school board. She just paid $106,000 in back pay to minimum-wage employees she stiffed. Is this the “accountability” and “ethical behavior” we want on our school board?

The Good Taste Award

Raffling off the same type of gun that was used to kill and wound so many people in Orlando to help the victims is like raffling off heroin to benefit drug abuse treatment.

Check the numbers

Trump says Brexit is a good thing. Hey conservative retirees, how are your investments faring?

Wrong side of the polls

The NRA gun lobby, who buys our Congress, is responsible for keeping no background checks for "gun show" assault weapon sales. Still think this is a good idea? Who's pulling the triggers here?

Short prayer

Trump in the White House. God help us.
