Sound Off for July 14, 2016

Beautifully said

Sheryl Green: What a profound, historical, and timely statement you made — "The fragrance of a dream can certainly overpower the stench of judgment."

Simple definition

All I know is that when someone files for bankruptcy, someone they owe money to isn’t going to get it.

Diverse need not mean divided

If we all shared the same beliefs and feelings, this would be a very boring and pitiful land. Let's celebrate our diversity, but never forget the common bonds that unite us.

Notable omission

Obama said in his speech in Dallas that race relations in the U.S. have improved during his lifetime, which is certainly true. He failed to say they have declined during his presidency.

Partly correct

Shelia Williams is right about one thing: there is institutional racism in our schools. Except it's black racism, not white. Particularly in some of the historically black schools. Don't settle for my word; ask around.

Without exception

I don’t care if our police officers are green with pink polka dots. I respect them. Every one.

Joke’s on us

The Clintons are laughing their tails off at us law-abiding folks.
