Davis Broadcasting hires CSU sports information director as new Sports Zone host

The 4 p.m. time slot on WIOL-FM 95.7 has been filled.

Robert Wroblewski left the Davis Broadcasting station in April. Since then a national show from ESPN had been running in its place.

Stephen Williams, who is the sports information director at Columbus State, will host The Sports Zone starting at 4 p.m. Monday.

“I am very grateful to everyone at Davis Broadcasting for allowing me this opportunity,” Williams said. “Getting back into talk radio is something I have desired for some time and this is the perfect set up.

“Bobby Z did an outstanding job of creating a loyal listener base, and we hope that we can continue to build upon and grow what he started.”

Williams has been the SID at CSU for five years and will continue to perform those duties.

He has previous experience as a radio talk show host in Jackson, Tenn.

“We want to make The Sports Zone the place to go to talk sports in Columbus,” Williams said. “The goal is to create a show that is both informative and entertaining to the listeners on a daily basis. We are extremely excited to get rolling with Monday’s first show and we hope everyone will join us because we have big things planned for the opening week.”
