Four CSU soccer players named DII All-Americans

Columbus State University’s Olivia Jarrell earned All-American honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association.

Hugrun Elvarsdottir and Cassandra Wade earned second-team honors from the D2CCA, and Mandy Janowitz was voted to the second team by the NSCAA.

Jarrell, a sophomore, earned honorable mention as a freshman and finished this season with 19 goals, tying the CSU single-season record. She scored six postseason goals and ranks fifth in program history with 36 goals through her first two seasons.

Janowitz set career bests in goals (12), assists (15) and points (39) in her senior season. Her assist total led the Peach Belt Conference and was second best in the country. She earned her first All-Conference and All-Region honors this season as well.

Elvarsdottir, a junior, also set career bests with eight goals, eight assists and 24 points. She was named All-Conference and All Region for the second time.

Wade tallied 12 goals and six assists in her junior season.

The Cougars won the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships and the Southeast Region championship for the third straight year before falling to Grand Valley State in the NCAA Division II semifinals.
