Brookstone rolls Pacelli for fourth straight win in rivalry
The Brookstone Cougars will hold onto the Brocelli Jug for the fourth straight year thanks to a big win over rival Pacelli Friday.
The Cougars (5-1, 3-0) rolled past the Vikings (0-6, 0-3) with a 61-14 victory. Brookstone’s Clark Smith scored twice on the ground and once on a reception and posted 218 total yards of offense. Teammate Richard Hill also had two rushing scores and took nine carries for 108 yards. The duo were two important pieces in a Brookstone offense that posted over 500 yards.
Defensively, Josh Fernicola ended the night with 15 tackles. It was performances like the ones from Smith, Hill and Fernicola that had Brookstone head coach Blair Harrison beaming after the win.
“It was really great to come out of a very emotional game for our school with a win,” Harrison said. “I’m really proud of how our players handled the entire game.”
