After a hiccup against Manchester last week, the Marion County Eagles got things rolling again.

The Eagles (5-1, 2-1) stormed past Greenville with a 42-8 victory. Running back Travon Matthews was up to his old ways, rushing for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

Matthews needed only seven carries to devastate the Greenville defense. He also tacked on a 75-yard kick return touchdown for good measure.

Marion County’s Jeff Oakes showed the Eagles’ passing game could be just as effective as its ground game. Oakes threw two touchdowns in the win, both going to Josh Rogers. Oakes ended the evening with three completions for 92 yards.
