PUEBLO, Colo. -- For the second consecutive season, Columbus State sprinter Shelisia Crawford will have a chance to win an individual national championship in the 200-meter dash.
The senior from Salem, Ala., ran her preliminary heat in a program-record 23.66 seconds Friday to advance to the finals at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships in the Neta and Eddie DeRose Thunderbowl.
Crawford finished second in her heat and third overall in the two heats. Last season, she finished fifth in the 200 to earn her second All-American accolade.
She also will compete with Zanquetta Smith, Laquita Daniel and Asha Alexander in the 4x100 finals. They ran a school-record 45.17 to finish second in their heat and third overall late Thursday.
