Cullman-Walker match-up ends in brawl; coach placed on leave

One Friday night football game ended in a loss this weekend -- and a fist fight.

The match-up between Cullman and Walker, rival high schools in Alabama, ended 13-10 on Friday with a last-second touchdown. And then the coaches took the field.

Walker head coach John Holladay allegedly attacked Cullman defensive coordinator Matt Hopper following his team's defeat. In video of the game, the fight erupts quickly, drawing in several football players and other coaches. Police officers are seen moments later.

Holladay was placed on administrative leave following the fight; Walker offensive coordinator Heath Bruner has been named interim head coach. This was the start of Holladay's seventh season at the school.

According to the Cullman Times, school board officials do not plan to take any disciplinary action regarding Cullman players or coaches.

The Daily Mountain Eagle, in Jasper, Ala., reports that police are investigating further.
