ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia scored four runs in the first inning en route to a 7-0 shutout victory over Clemson on Tuesday at home.
Designated hitter Daniel Nichols drove in a run on a first-inning double, and Skyler Weber added two more RBIs with a single two batters later.
The Bulldogs added one more run in the first, one in the fifth and two in the eighth.
Jared Walsh got the win on the hill for Georgia, pitching the game’s first two innings, allowing one hit and striking out one. Clemson’s Brody Koerner got the loss. He pitched two innings and allowed four runs, only one earned, on five hits.
Georgia (21-20, 6-11 Southeastern Conference) travels to Auburn for a three-game series beginning Friday.
