Russell Henley of Columbus will debut his new sponsor’s name at the Masters
Five-time PGA Tour winner Russell Henley of Columbus will tee off at the Masters this week while debuting a new sponsor: the Pinnacle Financial Partners brand.
Henley has been a brand ambassador for Columbus-based Synovus since 2023. He extended his relationship with the bank by signing a three-year agreement earlier this year. The branding change is the result of the Nashville-based Pinnacle and Synovus merger that closed in January, Pinnacle announced Monday.
This is the first public appearance of the Pinnacle brand under the renewed partnership with Henley. The firm is working to integrate brands with full conversion expected in early 2027.
“Russell exemplifies what we value most as a combined firm: character, discipline and commitment,” Kevin Blair, president and CEO of Pinnacle Financial Partners, said in the news release. “This partnership reflects our shared beliefs and builds on a solid foundation that began with Synovus and now continues with Pinnacle. Russell is the ideal fit to bring our brand to life in this next chapter.”
The news release didn’t mention the amount of money Pinnacle is paying Henley for the sponsorship, and the company declined to disclose the figure.
Henley is No. 12 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The Henley partnership with Pinnacle includes his wife, Columbus native Teil Duncan Henley, an artist, entrepreneur and author, who speaks at client and team member events.
“Teil and I have always believed the best things are built on trust and valued relationships, and Synovus has been exactly that for us,” Henley said in the news release. “With Synovus and Pinnacle coming together, we’re grateful to keep working with people we know to tell our story and represent a combined company that shares our values.”
Henley is a Macon native and played for the University of Georgia. He and Teil reside in Columbus.
