The 5 NFL Teams That Have To Travel The Most In 2026

If you're a fan of one of several NFL teams you might want to try and get that frequent flyer miles credit card ASAP because they're going all around the world this season.

The NFL has announced its international matchups for this season, which will see NFL teams fly as far as Australia, Brazil and Central Europe for games. With that information now available, we have a pretty strong indicator of just how far all 32 teams will have to travel this year.

Leading the way by a pretty large margin are the San Francisco 49ers at 38,105 miles traveled this season. Their longest trip of the season will be to Australia to take on the Rams (second at 34,847 miles), but they also have to make three trips to the east coast for games against the Giants and Falcons. They'll also have to fly halfway across the country to play the Cowboys and Chiefs. They also get an extra international game against Mexico midway through the season.

The Rams will be racking up flyer miles too. Their longest trips will take them to Australia, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Washington Commanders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - that's three east coast games to worry about.

Other teams set to pile on the miles are the Houston Texans (28,470), Dallas Cowboys (27,980) and the New England Patriots (27,590).

Long trips around the world

The Texans are going to be flying pretty much all over the place and have nine away games this year, one of which will be held in London. But they'll also be going as far north as Green Bay to play the Packers and as west as Los Angeles to play the Chargers. A pair of Mid-Atlantic games against the Eagles and Commanders will be pretty tiring too.

The Cowboys will be playing the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil rather than as their ninth home game, but they'll be spending a lot of time on the west coast too with games against the Rams and Seahawks. As always, they'll go on the road to take on the Giants, Eagles and Commanders, but they'll also have multi-hour flights to Green Bay and Indianapolis.

The Patriots will play their away game against the Detroit Lions in Munich, Germany and will travel all the way to the opposite end of the U.S. to play the Chargers. Combine that with road games against the Seahawks, Dolphins and Jaguars and they'll be playing games in quite literally all four corners of the U.S.

Will the long trips have any impact on the performance of teams this year?
