Eagles WR A.J. Brown Makes Big Personal Announcement
A.J. Brown could play for the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, or a dark-horse team by the time the 2026 NFL season rolls around.
The 28-year-old star receiver just made a commitment much more important than his next contract.
PEOPLE exclusively reported that Brown and Kelsey Nicole Riley got married in Laguna Beach, California, on May 16. Brown proposed to Riley with the help of 13-time Grammy winner John Legend last May. The couple shares three-year-old Arthur Juan Brown Jr. Brown also has a six-year-old daughter, Jersee.
“The couple were joined by about 200 guests, all of whom were asked to dress in rich shades of brown as a subtle nod to the bride and groom’s surname, Brown,” PEOPLE’s Ashlyn Robinette wrote. “Among the attendees were many NFL stars, including running back Saquon Barkley, wide receiver DeVonta Smith, former cornerback Darius Slay, cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, as well as wide receivers Elijah Moore, DeKaylin “DK” Metcalf and Deebo Samuel.”
Brown began his NFL career as a second-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in the 2019 NFL Draft. He posted 1,000-yard receiving seasons in his first two of three seasons in Tennessee before a blockbuster draft-day trade sent him to Philadelphia in April 2022.
Brown has posted at least 1,000 receiving yards in each of his four seasons with the Eagles, including back-to-back 1,400-yard seasons in 2022 and 2023, but he has seemed increasingly unhappy in his role in Philly over the past two seasons. That has fueled rampant trade speculation this offseason, and the league-wide assumption is that Brown will be traded to the Patriots on or after June 1 for salary cap reasons.
The Eagles seemed to signal a post-Brown offense when they traded up to select former USC receiver Makai Lemon with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on April 23. Philadelphia has also signed veteran receiver Hollywood Brown and traded for then-Green Bay Packers receiver Dontayvion Wicks.
