Bulldogs trek to Flowery Branch for Wednesday’s practice

Heading to Flowery Branch for a practice wasn’t exactly what Georgia’s players wanted to hear on Wednesday.

But with another day of heavy rainfall, this time accompanied with some scattered thunderstorms, the Bulldogs were forced to move practice to the Atlanta Falcons’ indoor practice facility. It’s about an hour trip each way on a bus, which pushed the players’ schedule back in their daily routine.

Even though it wasn’t ideal, some players made the most of the trip.

“Not much of a distraction,” redshirt sophomore defensive back Reggie Wilkerson said. “We just came into practice like it was another day.”

Sophomore outside linebacker Lorenzo Carter said it was his first time visiting the Falcons’ facility, which made it fun for him. However, he admitted it was tough psyching himself up for practice with an hour bus ride in between.

“I wouldn’t say anybody was really excited to go because it’s an hour trip you got to make,” Carter said. “You have to get your mind ready to practice again. It was good. Once we got there we did a good job focusing for practice.

But, Carter added, “The hour back really, kind of, sucked.”

Sophomore cornerback Malkom Parrish said nothing much changed during practice and that Georgia was able to get through it without any problems.

“Even with the rain, we’ve been getting it done,” Parrish said.
