Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark Reveals What ‘Stresses' Her About Lexie Hull

The Indiana Fever return to action Friday for a road rematch against the Golden State Valkyries after beating them 90-82 on Sunday. Indiana enters the game playing some of its best basketball of the young WNBA season, having won three straight games.

Caitlin Clark has again been central to Indiana's strong start. The Fever star returned from a one-game absence and immediately produced 22 points and nine assists against Golden State. Through five games this season, Clark is averaging 23.8 points, 9.0 assists and 4.4 rebounds and has continued to lead Indiana offensively while managing the increased defensive attention that follows her every night.

Lexie Hull has also played an important role during Indiana's recent stretch. After missing preseason action with a hamstring injury, Hull returned to the lineup against the Los Angeles Sparks and has started the Fever's last three games. Her defensive energy and physicality, especially on the perimeter, has been lauded by fans and teammates.

But her style of play has also created some level of concern.

Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Clark praised Hull's impact while joking about how often her teammate ends up on the floor.

"She's been great since coming back from her hamstring injury," Clark said. "I told her she needs to stop falling down so much. She's just constantly falling down, it stresses me out. She's got this cut on her leg that won't stop bleeding because she's always on the ground."

Despite Clark's concerns, Hull has quietly established herself as one of the Fever's more durable players. Last season, Hull played every regular-season and postseason game for Indiana during a year in which the roster dealt with multiple injuries, including Clark being limited to just 13 games.

Since missing the Fever's season-opener against the Dallas Wings, Hull has appeared in five games and is averaging 7.0 points while shooting 46.2% from the field and 50% from three.

Fever Looking to Continue Strong Start Against Valkyries

Indiana currently owns the second best record in the WNBA and will now look to complete the season sweep against the Valkyries. Keeping both Clark and Hull healthy will remain an important part of that effort as the season progresses.

Tip off for Tuesday's game against Golden State is scheduled for 10pm ET on Amazon Prime.
