Legacy Motor Club Supporting Chevy NASCAR Driver at Nashville Superspeedway
In an eyebrow raising move, Halmar Friesen Racing and Legacy Motor Club are teaming up this weekend at Nashville Superspeedway. That isn't very surprising, as both NASCAR teams are in the Toyota family. The driver they have selected is the surprise.
Parker Retzlaff is going to drive the No. 62 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro with sponsorship from Sports Illustrated Resorts. Retzlaff, a driver known for flaunting manufacturer loyalty in order to land opportunities, has been turning heads this season while racing for Viking Motorsports and Chevrolet in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.
Halmar Friesen Racing, a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team, is working in "conjunction" with Legacy Motor Club on the effort. This is interesting because Legacy is set to expand to three Cup Series teams for 2027, and will be adding at least one new driver to the roster.
Welcome to HFR, @Parker79p

In the recent past, Riley Herbst was reportedly on the verge of signing and announcing a deal with Legacy. Could Parker Retzlaff be complicating that deal, or does this have nothing to do with Cup at all?
The 23-year-old from Wisconsin has been in the second-tier NASCAR series since 2022. He has more than 100 races under his belt. While he has no wins, Retzlaff has driven lesser equipment and impressed with his natural ability to find speed. He has two poles in his career, and even a couple of Cup Series starts to his name.
This weekend at Nashville Superspeedway will be Retzlaff's second ever start in the Truck Series. With support from Halmar Friesen and Legacy Motor Club, he should have a nice piece on Friday night.
Parker Retzlaff has raced full-time in the NOAPS since 2023 when he was with Jordan Anderson Racing. He showed an immediate skill in superspeedway racing, with a P4 finish at Daytona. While he would bring in a handful of top-10 finishes and some top-fives, Retzlaff left JAR after 2024 and spent last season at Alpha Prime Racing.
This season with Viking Motorsports, Retzlaff is having a career-best season. One more top-10 this season in the 99 car and he will have the most top-10s in a single season in his career, and there is half a season to go. Clearly, Retzlaff has impressed people in the garage and this weekend will be an opportunity to capitalize on that.
