You Could Buy a House for the Price of a Knicks NBA Finals Ticket

New York Knicks fans are officially excited.

For the first time in the 21st century, their team is at the pinnacle of the sport: the NBA Finals.

While they await either the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder or the team they lost to in their last Finals appearance in 1999, the San Antonio Spurs, Knicks fans know when they’ll have their first Finals home game in 27 years.

The Knicks will play the first two games on the road in Texas or Oklahoma before coming to the Mecca that is Madison Square Garden, hoping to turn this magical run into a championship-ending run.

If you’re a diehard Knicks fan wanting to get into the building for Game 3, then good luck, as even the cheapest tickets are more expensive than any group stage game in the upcoming World Cup.

According to SeatGeek, it’ll cost you $3,400 per ticket to get into MSG to watch the first Knicks NBA Finals home game in a quarter-century.

But that’s not the craziest thing about NBA Finals pricing.

If you’re a celebrity or someone who wants a seat in the lower bowl section of MSG, right now, it will cost you over $100,000 for a single seat amongst the stars.

You could buy a home in either Oklahoma City or San Antonio with the money that you would spend to see a single basketball game, and not even on the wood courtside.

The most expensive Game 3 ticket right now is sitting around $190,000, which could get you a decent three-bedroom house somewhere in Oklahoma City.

New York might burn down if the Knicks win the NBA championship, and with these current prices, the city might burn down regardless.
