Packers RB Josh Jacobs Arrested on Five Charges Including Domestic Abuse
The Green Bay Packers were in the middle of organized team activities this week, working through the kind of offseason business that usually flies under the radar. That changed fast on Tuesday when news broke that running back Josh Jacobs had been arrested on multiple charges tied to domestic violence.
According to the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in Wisconsin, Jacobs was booked on five charges including battery tied to domestic abuse, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct connected to domestic abuse, strangulation and suffocation, and intimidation of a victim.
Brown County jail records show the strangulation and suffocation count has been filed as a felony. The remaining four charges are classified as misdemeanors. Bond was set at $1,350.
The Packers acknowledged the situation shortly after news broke.
"We are aware of the matter involving Josh Jacobs," the team said in a statement, per The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. "As it is an ongoing legal situation, we will withhold further comment."

Packers RB Denies Domestic Violence Allegations
Jacobs' attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld responded on his behalf, pushing back firmly on the allegations in a statement obtained by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
"Josh vehemently denies the allegations, and this matter is in the early stages of investigation with important evidence that has not yet been made public," the statement read. "We ask for fairness and restraint while the judicial process takes its course."

Josh Jacobs Career, Contract Situation
Jacobs is heading into his eighth NFL season and his third year in Green Bay. The Packers signed the 28-year-old as a free agent in 2024 after he spent the first five years of his career with the Las Vegas Raiders, who selected him 24th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft out of Alabama when the franchise was still in Oakland.
He's put together a solid career by any measure. Three Pro Bowl selections, 7,803 rushing yards, and 74 rushing touchdowns. His best season came in 2022 when he led the entire NFL in rushing.
Last year with Green Bay, he posted 929 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns. He's under contract through the 2027 season.
How the Packers handle this situation going forward will be worth watching closely as the legal process moves ahead.
