Patriots QB Drake Maye Delivers Exciting Message to A.J. Brown
Superstar wide receiver A.J. Brown is heading into the next chapter of his NFL career with the New England Patriots.
On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles traded Brown to the reigning AFC-champion New England Patriots in exchange for a 2028 first-round draft pick and a 2027 fifth-round draft pick.
Brown was publicly frustrated with his role within the Eagles’ offense on multiple occasions over the past couple seasons. But based on a recent comment from Patriots’ quarterback Drake Maye, that shouldn’t be an issue in New England.
It appears Brown will be getting a steady dose of targets from his new QB.
"Welcome to New England. Should be some fun,” Maye told Brown at practice on Tuesday. “Let me know what you want. I'm here to give you the rock."

Stefon Diggs, who was released by the team earlier this year, was the only Patriots wide receiver to notch over 1,000 receiving yards with Maye at quarterback in 2025. Now, Maye has a certified wide receiver superstar as his No. 1 option heading into Year 3.

Brown is already impressed by what he’s seen from Maye.
"Everything man. I was watching him today,” the veteran wide receiver said when asked what about Maye impresses him on Tuesday. “He can make every throw. He’s very poised."
The Patriots will kickoff their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the reigning Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks on Sep. 9.
