Spurs' Luke Kornet Delivers Hilarious Sales Pitch to LeBron James
LeBron James is fielding serious interest from several teams around the league as he navigates his free agency process.
On Friday, San Antonio Spurs veteran Luke Kornet posted a voice memo that he recorded for The King - pitching him on a potential partnership in San Antonio.
“Hey LeBron. Mr. James. LeBron? LeBron. It’s Luke Kornet, No. 7 on the San Antonio Spurs. You yelled at me a little bit last year,” Kornet said, referencing James’ poster dunk on him this past NBA season. “I just wanted to extend the invitation to come over here to San Antonio. We’ve got a great thing going. A lot of young talent. It’s an easy place to live - tax free. That’s always something.”
“You can play alongside a generational player … and Victor, too,” Kornet said with a laugh.

The Spurs played their way to the NBA Finals this past season, taking down the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. They ultimately came up short of their championship goals, losing to the New York Knicks in five games.
Wembanyama could sign for less than the $251 million, five-year maximum extension in order to give the Spurs financial flexibility to go after big-name free agents, according to a report from league insider Jake Fischer on Friday.

The Spurs are further down the list of contenders to land James. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors are all more realistic options.
