Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong Makes Big Announcement Before Reds Game
Chicago Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong has arguably been the most valuable player in all of baseball since the month of June. After a slow start to his fourth Cubs season, he has fully gotten back on track, and his overall numbers this year are incredibly strong.
Across 93 games, the 24-year-old has posted a .296 batting average, .387 on-base percentage, .930 OPS, 21 home runs and 52 RBIs.
He has accumulated 5.7 bWAR, which leads all players in baseball, and that is likely because he provides an all-around impact. He grades out as one of the best defensive outfielders in the league while his elite speed has also allowed him to swipe 23 bags this year.
As Crow-Armstrong prepares for Friday's series opener against the Cincinnati Reds, he had some exciting news to share for Cubs fans.
Crow-Armstrong has been partnered with Southwest Airlines over the past year as the carrier became the official airline of the Cubs. As one of the faces of the franchise, he was a natural fit as a brand ambassador.
This week, Crow-Armstrong took to social media to announce a giveaway in partnership with Southwest.
"This one's for the ultimate Cubs fans. I'm partnering with @southwestair to give you the chance to win exclusive signed merch, a VIP scoreboard experience, hotel stay and more," Crow-Armstrong wrote on Instagram. He also directed fans to the link in his bio to enter for the special prize.
Crow-Armstrong's talents will be on full display next week when he heads to the All-Star Game as the Cubs' lone representative. Chicago will look to end the first half on a strong note, hoping to take the NL Central divisional series against the Reds heading into the break.
